Versatile packaging with the case packer with double picking gripper

BrauBeviale represents an event not to be missed in the trade fair calendar of beer and beverage producers and bottlers.

From 26th to 28th November, in Nuremberg, the suppliers of this sector will present products, solutions and services that cover the whole production chain, from raw materials to bottling and packaging.

SMI will be present at booth 503, hall 7A to share the latest developments in the secondary packaging and will showcase the ACP 22 S ERGON case packer with pick & place system, characterized by a double picking gripper, for the packaging of products in RSC cardboard cases.

How does it work?

_
Infeed

The loose product to be packed, that must arrive to the packer already channeled, is transported by a conveyor belt with low-friction coefficient chains made of thermoplastic material.

Central section

The alternating-motion picker, equipped with vacuum suction cups, picks the pre-folded cardboard blanks from a cardboard magazine and opens them, forming the RSC box. The flap-folding devices close the lower side flaps of the pack, after which an arm equipped with a double picking gripper, acting as a pick & place device, grabs all the products arriving on the conveyor belt and gently places them inside the two newly formed cases.

Outfeed

Special upper side flap folders, operated by a semi-rotary cylinder, keep the walls of the newly made box pressed. The final closure of the box takes place by means of adhesive tape.

We'll be waiting for you at BrauBeviale (booth 503 – hall 7A) to show you our new ACP 22 S ERGON case packer, that on this occasion will pack beer bottles in RSC cases in 3x4 format.
